Our Staff

Bryan became the Senior Pastor here at Southside in May of 2023. Bryan is from Fernandina Beach, Florida and spent most of his growing up years in Hilliard, Florida. Bryan and his wife Judy have been married for over 45 years with 3 grown children, and 8 grandchildren. After graduating from Trinity College and Luther Rice Seminary, he pastored at Jamestown Baptist in Waycross GA for almost 15 years, and was lead to move back to Florida where he pastored at First Baptist Port St. Lucie/ Family Church for the last 29 years, prior to his move back to South Georgia. Bryan enjoys spending time at the beach, and being outdoors, he also loves to work out, and watch the Georgia Bullgdogs/ Miami Dolphins play football. Bryan has a heart to reach our community with the Gospel of Christ and further the kingdom of God through Southside Baptist Church.on goes.

Evan, his wife Auri, and their baby girl Everly have answered the call into ministry with us here at Southside. Evan serves full time on our staff as Associate Pastor focusing on Student and Children's ministries. Evan hosts our S2 Teens group for ages 6th-12th grade on Wednesday nights in our Family Life Center. Evan and his family has a heart for Jesus and serving others, and we are thrilled to have them on staff with us!

Jeffery came on staff effective August 2014. Jeffery is married to Lynn and they have three grown children.  Jeffery is a talented worship leader who loves the Lord. Jeffery leads the choir and musicians each week and directs special music events in the church.  Jeffery also works some with our church’s senior adult ministry.  Jeffery’s favorite thing about his role in the church is working with people.  One of his favorite Bible verses is Prov. 3:5-6 which says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”  Jeffery longs to see the church be a lighthouse for lost and hurting people.  He believes the mission of the church is to make disciples.  In his free time, Jeffery enjoys walking, doing yard work, and playing with his grandchildren.

Kayla came on staff in April of 2022 as our Office Manager. She married Josh Chesnut (manager of Outback Serenity Center) in December of 2016. They were blessed in October of 2018 with a beautiful daughter, Katelyn. Kayla has earned an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education through Coastal Pines Technical College. She spent 8 years prior to her time with us at Southside as the Director of a local childcare facility. Kayla grew up a pastor's daughter and was saved and baptized at the age of 8 years old. She has since been a part of many ministries and is looking forward to serving Jesus together with us at Southside.

Coleman and his wife Carole are faithful members of Southside. They are from Florida and moved to Hazlehurst about 2 years ago. Coleman is our part time maintenance personel. He is always handy with any thing that needs attention on our church campus and ready to assist with a smile. We are blessed as a church family to have him on our staff team!
